Mac Miller down the aisle, private vows that had me crying behind the camera, and twinkle lights under Mt. Hood. This Gorge Crest wedding had everything.
If I could bottle the feeling of this wedding day, I would.
It was that good.
Jordan and Seth (she/her, he/him) flew in from Houston, Texas to get married in the Columbia River Gorge – one of the most breathtaking places in Oregon and genuinely one of my favorite locations to photograph as a Columbia River Gorge wedding photographer.
Gorge Crest Vineyards sits directly across from Mt. Hood, and on their wedding day, the mountain showed up in the softest, dreamiest way. Overcast skies. Crisp fall air. The kind of quiet that makes everything feel intimate and cinematic.
If you’re looking for a Mt. Hood wedding venue with vineyard views, epic mountain backdrops, and space for an emotional, intentional day – this is it.

From the moment I met Jordan, I knew I was in for it. She’s warm, hilarious, emotional in all the right ways, and the kind of person you instantly click with. Seth has that same grounded, contagious energy- steady presence, kind spirit, and a smile that never left his face.
Together, they made the whole day feel easy and deeply grounded.
Their details were timeless and intentional. Soft blues woven throughout the florals. Vintage touches layered into the tablescape. Elegant bridesmaid gowns. Trees absolutely on fire with autumn color. It was peak fall in the Columbia River Gorge – rich, textured, alive.
They chose Mac Miller instrumentals for the aisle. Elite. Immediately elite.
Every guest brought this mix of joy, sentiment, and chaotic-fun energy that made the entire wedding feel full and electric.
If you’re planning a fall wedding in Oregon, especially in Hood River or the Columbia River Gorge, this time of year is unreal. Moody skies, golden vineyards, Mt. Hood peeking through the clouds – it feels like a film.

Before the ceremony, they shared private vows. Just the two of them.
No audience.
No distractions.
Just intention.
I cried. Fully cried behind my camera.
There was something about the way they looked at each other. The way their voices cracked. The way the air felt like it was holding its breath. It was one of those moments that reminds me why I do this – why documentary-style wedding photography matters.
These are the in-between moments. The ones that don’t need performance. The ones that feel sacred.
If you’re planning your wedding in the Columbia River Gorge, I cannot recommend private vows enough. They create space. They slow everything down. They let you feel it before the day moves fast.

The ceremony itself looked like a scene straight out of a film.
Mt. Hood framed behind them.
Clouds layered across the sky.
Jordan’s dress catching the wind.
Seth trying (and failing) not to tear up.
When he dipped her during the recessional, the entire crowd cheered like they were watching their best friends fall in love for the first time.
As an Oregon wedding photographer, this is the kind of ceremony backdrop you dream about- open sky, mountain views, vineyard rows, and space for emotion to actually exist.

As the sun disappeared and the twinkle lights came on, everything softened.
They slow danced to “Snowshoes” by Camp, wrapped up in each other while the vineyard went quiet around them. It was warm. Nostalgic. Intentional. So them.
This is what I love about weddings at Gorge Crest Vineyards – the transition from expansive mountain views to intimate evening glow. It photographs like a dream and feels even better in real life.

Jordan and Seth chose to add film photography and videography to their wedding day.
And honestly? It completed the story.
The grain.
The movement.
The texture.
Film holds emotion differently. It slows you down. It feels nostalgic and electric at the same time. When you combine digital, film, and intentional videography, you don’t just remember your wedding day – you feel it all over again.
That’s always my goal as a Columbia River Gorge wedding photographer: not just images that look beautiful, but images that feel emotional, alive, and electric.

Their family and friends were hilarious and genuine – the kind of group you instantly want to be around. Everyone was fully present. Fully invested. Fully there to love them.
Being welcomed into that kind of environment is never lost on me. It’s an honor every single time.
Jordan and Seth, thank you for trusting me with your story. Thank you for the laughter, the yapping, the tears, the chaos, the quiet moments, the wild ones, and everything in between. This day will stay with me for a long time.
This experience with them wasn’t just a memory. It was the beginning of it all.

“I inquired with Katelyn before I even secured my venue because I knew I HAD to have her capture my wedding day. She was the first vendor I booked. From the beginning, she felt like a friend- and when my wedding day arrived, meeting her felt like reconnecting with someone I’d known forever.
I fell in love with her photos and her artistic eye, and I waited for my wedding day knowing she would capture it better than I could imagine. You can feel the emotions in every photo, like a story pulled straight from a book.
On the wedding day, she kept asking about the vibe and what I wanted, but I didn’t want to give any direction because I trusted her completely. No matter what’s in front of her lens, she captures it in the most creative and beautiful way possible.
My wedding was just a few days ago and she already had previews ready- edited so exquisitely they made me, my husband, our families, and our friends cry all over again. I never doubted for a moment that anything would be missed. Her passion shows in every single image.
I will recommend Katelyn, Yara, and her team to everyone for the rest of my life. My wedding was beyond perfect, and I am so grateful they were a part of it. I will cherish my day, my photos, and this friendship forever.
We love you, Katelyn.”
